Constitution Contains the following items:
1. There shall be two categories of membership:
A. Active Membership
1. is open to any individual who is interested in actively promoting
the aims and objectives of The Club.
2. prior to joining prospective member must participate in at least 2 monthly shoots
and 2 monthly meetings.
3. fill out membership form and pay dues.
4. Members must participate in at least 6 Club events each year.
5. The Chief Range Officer of the Club will review with new members the
Range Rules to ensure clear understanding of our rules/regulations with
regards to Range Safety.
6. The Club Secretary/Treasurer will review with new members the Membership
Orientation Manual along with the Constitution and By-Laws.
7. New Members will be mentored by a current club member.
B. Honorary Membership may be granted to any individual proposed by the President
or Board of Directors and supported by the Membership with no voting privileges.
2. a) The membership fee for Active Members shall be $60.00 per person
or $80.00 per family (2), payable in November of each year.
Persons 18 years of age and under $20.00 Dues will not be pro-rated.
b) Annually each member shall be given a copy of the Constitution and
By-Laws, the Range Rules and Membership List.
3. Each Member except Honorary shall have one vote and must be present at the meeting to cast his / her vote.
4. Any member may hold office should they be nominated. Member(s) does not have to be present at time of nomination, as long as they agree.
5. Any Member may withdraw from the Club at any time and cancel his / her membership with loss of fees.
6. Regular meetings shall be held on nights designated by The Board, at whatever location is suitable.
7. Special Meetings may be called by the President or Board of Directors.
8. All matters passed at Directors' meetings shall be presented at the next regular meeting.
9. (I) Order of business at meetings shall be:
a) Reading of the Minutes
b) Treasurer's Report
c) Business arising from the Minutes
d) Items requiring action or decision
e) Correspondence
f) Reports
g) New Business.
(II) Five members 18 years and over must be present in order to have a quorum to hold a meeting.
10. The President may alter the order of business at any meeting for valid reasons. Also adjourn the meeting.
11. The election of officers and directors shall take place every two years at the general meeting to be held in December.
12. Officers will only be allowed to serve a maximum of two consecutive years in the same office unless a replacement cannot be found to accept nomination
13. An officer failing to attend four consecutive meetings may be replaced by a majority vote.
14. There will be no consumption of alcoholic beverages, drugs, etc., prior to or during shoots, that could prove injurious to participants, other members or spectators.
15. No foul language on Club property at any time.
16. No smoking around explosives
17. All guns brought to the range must be in safe working condition and must be UNLOADED. If a loaded gun is brought to the range then the Range Officer must be notified immediately. The decision of the Range Officer on appropriate action shall be final.
18. No capping or priming of guns behind firing line.
19. Range Officer must be approved by the Chief Range Officer.
20. Black Powder and modern Cartridge guns may be used by Club Members for their own personal use and shall only compete in Special Black Powder Cartridge events.
21. The year end of the Buckskinners Muzzleloading Association Limited of Moncton, NB shall be December 31st of each year.
22. All Whelps shooting and using Hawk & Knife must be assisted by an adult who may participate or by a qualified adult not participating in that relay.
23. Persons are permitted to use open iron sights & peep sights but no slings or other supporting harness in competition. Black Powder Cartridge Rifles may have any metallic sight.
24. To provide members with a transportation firearm permit, according to the Laws laid down. And, to supply insurance coverage for all members / spectators / guests.
25. To compensate owner of range property by paying taxes directly to the owner on a yearly basis.
26. Membership dues in the NB Wildlife Association are paid on a yearly basis.
27. Qualification for Club Trophies / Prizes consists of shooting 4 of the 7 standard paper targets or choice of 3 standard paper targets plus 1 novelty for a total of 200 points at our monthly shoots, in the Open and Ladies Categories. No 100 yd. target for ladies category, but an additional 50 or 25 yd. target to be shot to maintain 200 points per month.
Whelps-25yd Bench, Single Bull target, 25yd Bench, Double Buffalo Target, for a total of 100 points.
Juniors-25yd OffHand, 6 Bull target, 50yd Bench, 6 Bull target, and 50yd XS or Bench Double Buffalo target, for a total of 150 points.
Hawk & Knife-Stick with complete cut of card = 3 points. Stick on any edge of card = 2 points. Stick in block = 1 point, for a total of 15 points for Knife and 15 points for Hawk for a grand total of 30 points.
Cartridge-2 targets, 50 OH & 100 Bench, Single Bull target for both.
When target score is marked, if a member has not shot all 4 targets, then a diagonal line is to be drawn in that particular space and that month would not qualify. If a member shoots all 4 targets and does not score on his or her target, then it is to be recorded as 0 and would qualify.
These trophies and prizes are given on a yearly basis, during the January Meeting, as follows:
- WHELPS - Ages 6 - 12 inclusive (best 3 shoots to qualify)
- JUNIORS - Ages 13 - 17 inclusive (best 6 shoots to qualify)
- LADIES - Best 6 shoots to qualify.
- MEN'S - Best 8 shoots to qualify.
- MEN'S PISTOL - Best 6 shoots to qualify.
- LADIES PISTOL - Best 4 shoots to qualify.
- SMOOTHBORE - Best 6 shoots to qualify.
- HAWK & KNIFE - Best 4 months to qualify.
- CARTRIDGE- Best 6 shoots to qualify.
28. Scoring
a) One half ball or more shall be over the line for higher score
b) Cross Fire shall be immediately brought to the attention of the Range Officer. It is
the Range Officer's duty to resolve any disputes. His / her word is final. If you
cross fire on a target which is the same as yours, 1 point will be deducted from the
shot. If you cross fire on a target different from yours then the shot will count as
zero.
c) If an extra shot is in your target the highest score is lost unless proven to the contrary.
29. All members who own firearms must be in possession of a valid firearms license. Firearms used on our Range must be registered as required by the law and have proof of registration.
